All Stella Polaris Safari Center snowmobile safaris depart from our Safari Center, conveniently located right next to Ruka Salong at Salongintie 18.

How Early Should I Arrive?

We recommend arriving at our Safari Center approximately 15–20 minutes before your activity begins. This gives us enough time to provide the necessary safety instructions, help you with the equipment, and ensure everyone is ready for the adventure.

Is Winter Equipment Included?

Yes. All necessary winter equipment is included in the safari price, including a thermal overall, winter boots, helmet, gloves and a balaclava. Our equipment is designed to keep you warm and comfortable throughout your adventure.

Do I Need a Driving Licence to Drive a Snowmobile?

Yes. All snowmobile drivers must hold a valid driving licence equivalent to at least a Category B (car) licence. You may be asked to present your driving licence before the safari begins.

Can Children Participate in Snowmobile Safaris?

Yes. Children are welcome on most of our snowmobile safaris, subject to the activity’s minimum age and height requirements. Younger children travel safely in a sled towed behind the guide’s snowmobi

What If the Weather Is Bad?

Our snowmobile safaris operate in typical Arctic winter conditions. However, if weather or trail conditions make it unsafe to run the activity, we will offer an alternative programme or arrange a new departure time.

Can I Cancel My Booking?

Yes. Our cancellation policy is provided in your booking confirmation and on our website. We recommend reviewing the cancellation terms before making your reservation.

In Which Languages Are the Tours Guided?

Our guided tours are available in Finnish and English.

Do I Need to Book a Safari in Advance?

Yes. We recommend booking your safari before arriving in Ruka to secure your preferred date and activity. During the peak winter season, our most popular safaris often sell out quickly.
