Welcome to Jyrävä Camping on the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Juuma!

Jyrävä Camping is located on the shores of the crystal-clear Lake Juuma, known for its sandy bottom and pristine waters. It is the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts. Whitewater rafting trips depart directly from the campsite, and you can enjoy fishing from the shore or rent a SUP board to explore the lake.

Our customer service is available daily at the Kota Café during the camping season.

Caravan pitches and tent sites can be booked in advance through our online booking system. Your booking confirmation will include detailed arrival instructions, the location of your pitch or tent site, and the access code for the shower and toilet facilities.

Kota Café

Our café offers ice cream, light savoury snacks, sweet treats and meals by advance order. A full range of alcoholic beverages is also available.

The Kota Café is available for private hire outside opening hours, making it an ideal venue for celebrations, meetings and other private events.

The terrace seats up to 40 guests, with indoor seating for an additional 10 guests.

The sauna comfortably seats up to 6 people, while the spacious terrace and changing room make it suitable for larger groups as well.

Enjoy beautiful views of the crystal-clear Lake Juuma from the sauna, and take a refreshing swim from the sandy beach just outside. After a day of activities, there’s no better place to relax and share the highlights of your adventure.

Price: €50/hour per group when booked in connection with an activity or camping stay. Each group enjoys a private sauna session.

Things to Do at Jyrävä Camping

Info & Instructions

River Kitkajoki
The free-flowing, approx. 40 km long River Kitkajoki flows from Lake Kitkajärvi over the border to Lake Paanajärvi on the Russian side. What makes River Kitkajoki a great rafting river is small alteration in water level and versatile route options. There are numerous rapids suitable for rafting in River Kitkajoki, but we will pass the largest waterfall Jyrävä by foot.

Equipment
All our river rafting activities include rafting equipment (rubber boots, raincoat and pants, life jacket, and helmet), transportation and a trained guide. You can bring a dry change of clothes and change at our office after the rafting trip. We recommend bringing your own plastic drinking bottle that can be kept on the floor of the rubber raft. We do not recommend taking a phone, car keys, or anything water sensitive on the trip.

Age Limits
The age limits for our white water rafting trips are based on the official rafting safety guidelines approved by the Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes). We strictly adhere to these age limits. For example, a 4-year-old cannot participate in the Family Route until they have turned 5 years old. Likewise, participants on the Wild Route must be at least 18 years of age.
